World Lung Cancer Day 2018

Lung cancer (in all formats), can be treated more efficiently if it is diagnosed accurately at an earlier stage. We therefore encourage all individuals (irrespective of age, gender or lifestyle habits) to monitor for changes that might be indicative of early lung cancer symptoms.

According to recently released statistics[1], more than 40% cancer cases among all Indian males and more than 12% of all cancer cases in Indian females were linked to tobacco usage between 2011-2015.

“Healthy lifestyle holds the key to cancer prevention. Up to two-thirds of all cancers may be prevented by avoiding tobacco and adopting other healthy habits. Over 70% cases report for diagnostic & treatment services in advanced stages of disease, resulting in poor survival and high mortality rates. Preventive oncology embraces measures to prevent the occurrence of cancer and to detect cancer at the earliest stage.” – Dr. Sudhir Rawal, Medical Director, RGCIRC.TOI – https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/hyderabad/cancer-hits-more-women-in-india-than-men-but-more-men-die-of-it/articleshow/62439664.cms
