What Is It Prescribed For?  

  • Brain tumours
  • Hodgkin’s lymphoma 
  • Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma 
  • Multiple Myeloma 

How Is It Given?

It is given as an infusion into a vein. It is also available in another form of medication that can be placed and left in the cavity after surgical removal of a brain tumor. 

What Are Common Side Effects?

You may face some of these side effects:

  • Confusion
  • Speech disorder
  • Headache
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Skin rash
  • Fever
  • Constipation
  • Dizziness
  • Weakness

Your doctor can prescribe medication to control these side effects. Carmustine may also cause other side effects. If you face any unusual or serious problems, inform your doctor immediately. 

Who Should Avoid Taking This Drug?

It should be avoided in patients with known hypersensitivity to Carmustine.

Available only in 100mg vial. Depending on the brand, the cost of Carmustine 100mg can range between INR 3500 – INR 5000 per vial.
