What Is It Prescribed For? 

  • ALK-positive or ROS1-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that has spread to other body parts.
  • ALK-positive systemic anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL; a type of fast-growing non-Hodgkin lymphoma) in children or younger adults.

How Is It Given?

It is available in capsule form and is taken by mouth twice a day. It can be taken with or without food at around the same time every day.

What Are Common Side Effects?

You may face some of these side effects:

  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Diarrhea or constipation
  • Fluid retention 
  • Tiredness
  • Loss of appetite
  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Cough
  • Abdominal pain
  • Mouth sores
  • Visual side effects like double vision, blurry vision, floater (spots in the vision), sudden flashes of light, visual brightness
  • Weakness, numbness, and pain, usually in the hands and feet
