What Is It Prescribed For? 

For the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (a type of blood cancer).

How Is It Given?

It is available in tablet form and is taken by mouth once a day with food. It should be taken at around the same time every day as directed by your doctor.

What Are Common Side Effects?

  • Nausea and vomiting

  • Low blood count in the form of low hemoglobin levels, decreased white blood cell and platelet count
