What Is It Prescribed For?
- Colon or rectal cancers that have spread to other parts of the body.
- Squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck that has spread to other body parts.
How Is It Given?
It is given as an infusion into a vein over 1 – 2 hours once a week or every 2 weeks.
What Are Common Side Effects?
You may face some of these side effects:
- Skin rash, dry skin, itching, or skin peeling
- Nail changes
- Fatigue
- Mouth sores
- Diarrhea or constipation
- Nausea and vomiting
- Headache
- Increased liver enzymes
